Transportation Issues

One of the biggest issues a person on disability or limited income has to deal with is the transportation issue. It becomes a larger problem when gas prices rise. It also becomes a problem when the disabled person is unable to drive for one reason or another. But what can a disabled individual do to get around this problem to travel around the community? I will mention some resources not associated with this organization that can be located around the country.

Community Transportation Option Resources
* The local mass transportation system. Some offer reduced or in some cases free passes for disabled individuals with the proper documentation. Check their website or customer service for more details.
* Local transit or mass transit offers the ADA bus for those disabled individuals who are medically unable to utilize their service. Often, the rate is higher than the regular route buses.
* Some ambulance companies offer transportation medically fragile disabled individuals.
