Individual Education Plan (IEP) Document

The Individual Education Plan is the foundation of Special Education within the schools. It is a plan outlining the services, instruction, behavior modification, transportation, goals, instructional modifications, assistive technology, and classroom placement of a disabled student. The whole plan is based on the individual instructional and modification needs of the individual disabled student. In order to receive one, a student must be evaluated to see if he/she qualifies for services. When any changes are made to this document, there should be a team meeting with the parent present in between new IEP documents. I will include some resources not associated with this organization for further reading.
